Yushin Expands "RCII Series" Servo Robot Lineup
by 2 with Medium- and Large-sized Models
(Specs & Dimensions are soon to come)

 New Yushin RC800 & RC1300 Servo Robots

Yushin Precision Equipment announces medium and large models of the "RCII" series of traverse-type, fully servo-powered take-out robots for injection molding. The RCII Series, designed to embody the concepts of Speed, Reliability, and Savings, debuted with four smaller models earlier this year, and now two new RCII models officially go on sale November 2nd to join the lineup. Yushin Precision Equipment carries the motto of "Heartful Technology," and is a dedicated supplier of take-out robots for injection molding machines (based in Kyoto, Japan; President Mayumi Kotani; 1.986 billion yen capital)

The two new models of RCII robots are designed to match different sizes of injection molding machines. The "RCII-800" is for injection molding machines with clamping forces of 550-1000 tons. The "RCII-1300" accommodates machines in the 1000-1600-ton range. Each model is available in the single-arm "S" type for molded product take-out only, or a dual-arm "D" type for removal of both products and runners. Each model also features 2-stage, telescoping arms which reduce the robots’ vertical profile and allow for faster operation and use in low-clearance areas.

Three development concepts commanded the RCII Series design:

1. Speed

As higher speed and faster take-out times (shorter mold-open times) directly correlate to higher productivity, the servo motors powering the vertical and kick axes are both a full size larger than the previous robot line. This increased power delivers take-out times up to 14% faster than previous robots, ensuring an increase in production speed.

2. Reliability

The RC Series is designed for ease-of-use, with careful consideration given to both robot operators and maintenance/repair technicians in order to make their jobs easier.

(a)Increased Structural Rigidity of Robot
In seeking to perfect each beam's cross-sectional design, structural analysis was applied and the linear guide rail layout repositioned. The geometrical moment of inertia in torsion directions was improved by a factor of 4.5. Thus, nuisance errors (interrupt) such as missed take-outs or inaccurate inserts have been reduced even further than before, and customers will enjoy higher work efficiency.

(b)Arm Vibration Suppression
The RC series features active "vibration suppression" on each powered axis. By taking prior measurements of resonance frequency (fr) of moving components before each position along the powered axes, the control system reduces electrical output to the servo amplifier in proportion to torque, in order to prevent any torque effect (and corresponding shake/vibration) from occurring. Furthermore, the control system of the RCII Series adapts to factors such as position and payload and monitors a data chart of specific frequency intervals (fri) at every step during the operation cycle to help regulate smooth operation. The end result is a dramatic reduction in wasted time waiting for shaking or vibration to cease during take-out, product release, or insert modes.

3. Savings

RCII robots are standard-equipped with the newly-developed "ECO Vacuum" (patent pending) feature, which monitors air pressure while the robot grips molded parts, only opening air lines when necessary, to greatly reduce compressed air and compressor electricity usage.

The RCII Series’ "E-Touch II" controller features a 10.4 inch full-color touch screen. It is fully backwards-compatible with the previous model "E-Touch Web" controllers and shares the same basic operation, so teaching data created for RA-a robots may also be used freely with RCII robots. Outstanding features of this new controller include:

  1. The Operator "Easy Screen" is a simple "Go/Stop" control screen designed especially for production floor personnel, and allows for easy operation.
  2. Audio Guidance augments the control screen display with spoken assistance, similar to a GPS navigation device.
  3. The Motion Chart Screen gives operators a one-stop panel to teach the robot new settings such as positions/strokes, speeds, wait timers, etc, with no need to switch screens.

Such innovations allow customers to operate the RCII Series robots with ease and confidence.

The two new RCII models join the previously released "RCII-100," "RCII-150," "RCII-250," and "RCII-400" to bring the total RCII lineup to 6 models.
